West Ham United fans have been sent into a frenzy on Twitter after Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema used the two hammers emoji on an Instagram post.
The France international posted a selfie on the social networking site, which of course caught the attentions of supporters of the east London outfit.
Benzema was in electric form for Real in 2018-19, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
He also embarked on a phenomenal run between February and April, as he scored 11 goals in nine games.
The Frenchman is the sixth highest goalscorer in Real’s history and has repeatedly been linked with a move to England; Manchester United were touted as suitors in 2009 prior to his move to Real and he was mentioned as a possible Hammers target just last year.
